Frequently asked questions

How do I find the time difference between two countries?

Pick both countries and read the gap. The tool uses your device's time zone database, so daylight saving changes are included.

What is the best time to call abroad?

Aim for overlap between about 9am and 9pm in both places. The meeting planner shows the matching time on the other side.

How to use the time difference tool

Choose the country you are in and the country you are calling, then pick the time zone if the country has more than one (the United States, Russia, Australia, Canada and Brazil do). The gap updates at once and already includes daylight saving, because the tool uses your device's own time zone database rather than a fixed table. Enter a meeting time on your side and the planner shows the matching local time on the other side.

What the result means: a positive gap means the destination is ahead of you, so their day starts earlier; a negative gap means they are behind. For calls, aim for a window that falls between about 9am and 9pm in both places. For flights, the gap is also your jet lag in hours; eastward travel is usually harder to adjust to than westward, and the jet lag calculator turns the gap into a simple day-by-day plan.
